Elysian Consulting Group is a national economic development and public affairs consultancy, providing expertise to clients on economic and tax policy, real estate development and finance, corporate strategy, public relations, and political strategy.

 

Our clients range from healthcare systems to Fortune 500 corporations, to film studios, and nonprofits. Our mission is to serve as a compass for our clients and ensure they don’t waste time or money navigating the worlds of economic development, public policy, and public affairs.

OUR TEAM

Joe Kelley
is a Founding Partner of Elysian Consulting Group.

Previously, Mr. Kelley served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Economic Growth for Governor Philip D. Murphy (NJ). Mr. Kelley oversaw several major policy initiatives, managed large economic development projects, and worked with the Governor on marketing the state to businesses around the world. Mr. Kelley served as the Governor’s point person for several critical issues, including the economic restart and recovery from Covid-19; Netflix’s billion dollar east coast production headquarters; the American Dream development ($3B); statewide transit oriented development; corporate relations; and foreign direct investment, including the Governor’s trips to Germany, Israel, and India, which have brought over 1200 jobs to NJ. Mr. Kelley was a Deputy Campaign Manager and Finance Director for the 'Murphy for Governor' campaign. He previously owned and operated a public affairs consultancy, working with U.S. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut, the 2012 Democratic Convention Host Committee, and NARAL Pro-Choice America, among others. In 2013, he was appointed by Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer to midtown Manhattan’s Community Board, a volunteer body with oversight of zoning, land use, liquor licensing, and other economic development issues. Mr. Kelley grew up in Morristown, NJ, and is a graduate of Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA. He serves on the Board of Commissioners for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and is a Member of the Councilor's Program of the Atlantic Council, a foreign policy think tank.

Daniel Bryan
is a Founding Partner of Elysian Consulting Group.

Before founding ECG, Mr. Bryan was one of the chief architects of Governor Phil Murphy's historic 2021 re-election campaign, having played a similar senior role in the Governor's 2017 campaign. Bryan has also had several high profile government positions, including serving as Director to the Gubernatorial Transition and the Governor’s first Press Secretary in 2018. In 2019, Bryan was promoted to Senior Advisor to the Governor for Strategic Communications, a role he served for three years. In this position, he helped shape the Administration’s messaging and communications strategy through every facet of the first term, built key relationships throughout the state, and advised on everything from the state budget to policy priorities. Before working on the Governor’s campaign in 2017, Mr. Bryan served as Chief of Staff to Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer from 2009-2015 followed by a stint at a boutique real estate-focused public relations firm. Mr. Bryan grew up in Ringwood, NJ, and is an alumni of the University of Scranton and Don Bosco Prep.
